Its funny how when you mention being a picky eater people may say like "oh me too i only eat pizza and chicken tenders and spaghetti lol" and i nod but in my head i am thinking about how it makes me happy to have beef stroganoff, meatloaf, fettucine alfredo or roasted red potatoes in the fridge
#Of course i do partake in a bit of pizza and chicken nuggets and spaghetti#I love grilled cheese and garlic mashed potatoes too. and baked mac&cheese which i know is a safe autistic food to some#and i only eat vegetables if i put some parmesan cheese on them#so i get why theyre a common comfort food. But a nice plate of beef stroganoff with peas and some parmesan cheese is my favorite#Oh and cheesecake. i would kill a man for a big ol slice of cheesecake all to myself

This is an emergency PSA to put onions in your cooking!!!
Taco meat? Onions.
Burgers? Onions.
Steak and potatoes? Onions.
Breakfast scramble? Onions.
Sautéed veggies? Onions.
Pastas? Onions.
They enhance the flavor of whatever they're with and they add a nice texture layer. Everything is better with a lil onion in it I promise you can trust me

And recipe nine of me trying to cook all the way through all three of the newer Star Wars cookbooks, Rorkid Bread, from the Life Day cookbook:
AKA garlic knots. They’re. They’re garlic knots.
Weirdly comforting to know that Ewoks—all three of these books are in-universe cookbooks, and rorkid bread is an Ewok recipe in that fiction—have garlic knots.
So, yes, they’re garlic knots with a little matcha (still using mulberry as a substitute, since now I’ve got a huge bag of mulberry leaf powder to get through) sprinkled on top, but they’re really tasty garlic knots. Garlicky, buttery, herby, and pretty easy to make, as far as bread goes. Would recommend.
Also, see that nice helpful picture on how to make them? You know where that would have been great?? On the five blossom bread recipe. Would have been great to have that on the five blossom bread recipe.
(Especially since the Life Day cookbook has, on the whole, the weirdest layout. Text placement is odd at times and there are pages with short recipes that are mostly empty where pictures could be, but are otherwise empty. I like all three of these cookbooks, but the life day cookbook is the one where the presentation is slightly phoned in at points.)

guys okay i tried the garlic bread subway sandwich hack & it is regrettably amazing. i wish i hated it then i would never spend money on it again 😩

bunch of leftover arugula so I experimented with turning it into pesto and it’s really good 🥺
#food#meat#recipe as best I can reproduce it in the tags:#~5oz fresh baby arugula; 1 bunch parsley#6 or 7 or more cloves garlic#lime-sized block of Parmesan cheese#half a glass of red wine#a capful or two of red wine vinegar#uhhhhhh maybe a third of a cup olive oil all told but go by feel#decent amount of salt & pepper & crushed red pepper flakes#I think that’s it? and you chuck it all in a blender#and throw it in the pasta while the pasta is still hot#OH and pecans but ideally you’d use walnuts. toast a handful in a small pan

any recommendations for some food I can keep in the freezer/cabinets and heat up real quick if I get hungry?
#i dont eat breakfast and we always eat dinner at like 3:00#snacks dont always do it for me#so i like to have smth to heat up rq#i usually have frozen pierogis#chicken fried rice#or creamy garlic shells#but i wanna go to the store this week to get some other stuff#im not a HUGE fan of putting things in the oven (mozzarella sticks. frozen pizza. etc)#for some reason#but i could if i wanted to#im thinking i get some bixes of rice (like the different kinds yk)#maybe some soup#mac and cheese feels like to much for like eight at night#and i def coupdnt finish a whole box#(same with like soup and fried rice and whatnot but thats good as leftovers. mac and chees is NOT)#so idk#post posting#OH yeah#i also dont have a microwave#which would make this so much easier but oh well
